WATER , SANITATION & HYGIENE (WASH)
There is a lack of safe water and sanitation facilities in many rural villages and schools and this is a major cause of waterborne diseases and mortalities. ROF works with the communities in western Kenya to sink boreholes, rehabilitate wells and natural springs, rain water harvesting, build toilets/latrines and install handwashing facilities in schools. We also work with community health workers to conduct water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) education in schools and communities. This is aimed at reducing the use of unsafe water and sanitation facilities and improving livelihoods.
