FOOD SECURITY & SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Climate change is increasing food insecurity in many parts of the world resulting in reduced food availability, lower economic access due to higher food prices and reduced income and employment, greater instability of supplies and incomes and reduced food safety.
ROF works with women, youth, rural farmers and schools to implement climate change adaptation technologies such as drip irrigation, vertical farming, shade gardening, conservation agriculture and agroforestry to improve production. We work with schools to establish climate smart kitchen gardens to support lunch/school feeding programs in a sustainable way.
Our goal is to empower the smallholder farmers, especially women, youth and schools to adapt to the changing climate and enhance food security and ecosystem resilience.
