Akili Preparatory school welcomed its first graders on 7th January this year for the start of term one 2013. The pupils were so excited to enter into their new classrooms having previously studied in the prince of peace church hall which hosted baby, middle and final classes of the Early Childhood Development (ECD). The new classrooms were constructed during the last week of December 2012 after a well-wisher donated funds to the school. We also bought new desks for the students.

Our new class; 1st grade has registered a total of 20 pupils during the 1st week, Final class, middle class and baby class has 19, 36, and 24 pupils respectively.

Last year we had insufficient classes and we had two classes (Baby and middle classes) sharing a room as shown below. We take this chance to thank all those who donated funds to construct the above classes and also for the purchase of desks. our pupils now have better classrooms and desks and we hope this will help improve their class performance.

Through our feeding program, pupils pay kes 20 per day to have lunch at school. High school leavers are helping fix meals and serve the students as a way of giving back to the community.

High school leavers also volunteer as teachers in the school, helping our trained staff of two. For example, Mercy, a young girl who finished high school last year is now volunteering as a teacher at the school. We give her a monthly stipend for her work.

We thank all individuals who have offered prayers and financial donations to support our dream of making Obunga a better place. God bless you all!
