Trip Costs & Accomodation
ROF welcomes passionate individuals to visit and actively support our projects, making a direct impact on the rural communities we serve. Unlike traditional programs, we do not charge volunteers for their participation; we value the time and skills they contribute.
- Even though we currently do not have facilities to accommodate volunteers, we ensure their safety and comfort by arranging stays in local hotels and lodges near the project site. These accommodations provide quality services and a secure environment. The estimated cost for full board (meals and accommodation) ranges between $30 to $50 per day, which volunteers cover independently. ROF can assist with accommodation bookings upon request.
- While volunteers cover their own trip costs, including flights, ROF provides free airport pickup and drop-off at Kisumu International Airport for a smooth arrival and departure.
- Beyond volunteering, participants have the opportunity to engage in local excursions and cultural exchange programs during their free time, offering a deeper connection to the local community and traditions. However, volunteers pay for their own Flights to Kisumu Interntional Airport (KIS) where ROF picks them up and drops them off free of charge.
- Volunteers also pay for their own Visas/Permits , Travel Insurance, Personal Expenses (e.g. souvenirs, extra food/beverages other than what is provided at the hotels), bush or coastal safaris , Vaccinations etc
