Posted by: David Omondi Doing the second geosurvey Hello partner, We are excited to share with you that our friends at the Deeper Missions Org www.deepermissions.org sent hydrogeologists from Aqua Well Services Ltd to Akili School on Monday 30th May 2016. The hydrogeologists conducted a thorough/comprehensive survey to establish the ground water potential at the school. They also conducted a control test on the two spots where we unsuccessfully drilled before. The control test showed that there was no sufficient quantities of water at the two spots where we drilled. The good news is that the hydrogeologists established that there is water on the school grounds, right next to our school dormitory/ boarding house. They have advised us to drill 130 meters to strike sufficient quantities. Unlike the previous geologists, the Aqua Well Services staff were very meticulous in their work. They explained to us exactly what they were looking for and even had us attempt some of the simple preliminary methods like water dowsing. We are committed to providing stable supply of clean water for our girls and the community. Since we have recently planted fruit trees at the Campus, the water will also help us maintain these fruit trees and sustain the school in the future through sale of fruits to the local community. In order to drill the well, we need $9,762. We have $3,250. We therefore need to raise $6,512 as soon as we can so that we can drill the well and provide water for the girls. Wednesday June 15th is GlobalGiving Rewards Bonus Day! GlobalGiving org will be matching donations of up to $1000 at 40% starting at 9 AM EDT. There are also other prizes of $1000 for most unique donors and most funds raised on this day. We hope that as many generous supporters as possible will make donations to this cause and help us provide clean water for our girls and our community. It is our prayer that given the thorough survey conducted by the Aqua Well Services Team, we will strike sufficient quantities of water this time. Despite the setbacks from previous drilling attempts, lets all join hands and make this a reality for our girls and community. Thank you for supporting our efforts to empower girls and women and make the world a better place. Warm Regards, David Our volunteers Lauren and Janes with the girls Girls washing their hands at school Ground water tanks at Akili School Akili Girls Newly admitted girls
